KOTA KINABALU: People in Sabah can now enjoy a smart shopper programme offered by Affiliate Junction Network (AJ), Malaysia’s leading retail affiliate network.

It offers special privileges, instant cash rebate, as well as reward points when they shop at outlets within the network.

Nearly 200 retail outlets are participating in the programme which has over 30,000 affiliates and members, with 10 per cent of the merchants and 5 per cent of the affiliates and members in East Malaysia.

At the launch of the MyKad Smart Shopper Programme yesterday, AJ invited 200 potential retail merchants in East Malaysia to take up a 12-month programme on a free trial as case study partners.

It was jointly launched by Director of Government Multipurpose Card Project, National Registration Department (NRD) Siti Rohani Mohamed Yusup, Affiliate Junction’s Patron Datuk Ir Wan Zahari Bin Hassan and Founder of Affiliate Junction and CEO of I SYnergy Universal Sdn Bhd (IS) Lawrence Teo at the Pacific Sutera Hotel here.

“Our approach is to utilise the affiliate marketing concept whereby businesses reward affiliates for referring leads and customers to their businesses,” said Teo.

AJ aims to acquire at least 10,000 affiliates and members from the East Malaysian market to participate in the program within the next 12 months.

“Consumers get instant cash-rebate and reward points when they shop while merchants get access to a potential of 27 million customers without spending more on advertising and promotion efforts,” he added.

The MyKad Smart Shopper Programme allows Malaysians to enjoy benefits by activating their MyKad with any Affiliate Junction’s affiliates.

It was developed by IS, an integrated retail marketing consultation and solutions provider, in strategic partnership with NRD and the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC).

Launched in Kuala Lumpur last November, it is the first of its kind in catering directly to any Malaysian’s basic retail needs.
